The Wyoming Women’s Foundation
and the Women’s Foundation
of Montana are celebrating significant milestones. Each foundation
raised $500,000 that was matched by Chambers Family Fund. In reaching
the initial endowment goal of $1 million, they have secured statewide
permanent endowments dedicated to lasting change for women and girls
in Wyoming and Montana. These new endowments will provide reliable,
permanent sources of grants to invest in lifelong economic self-sufficiency
for women and brighter futures for girls.
Chambers Family Fund launched
this initiative in partnership with
statewide community foundations to increase support for organizations
serving women and girls and to encourage women’s philanthropy
in Wyoming and Montana. Individual contributions played an important
role in reaching these endowment goals. Each women’s fund
received contributions from more than 200 individual donors, most
of them women. These endowments, which are expected to grow significantly,
remain invested with the community foundations, while a portion
of each fund’s annual income is available for granting purposes.
Each fund has a website
and an e-newsletter to effectively and efficiently communicate with
donors, volunteers, grantees and their communities. With these resources
in place, and the first endowment hurdle cleared, the women’s
funds are poised for growth, impact and success.
